Hegman Gauge or Grinding Gauge is used to determine the fineness or the size of the particles present in a sample. It has a very significant role in controlling the quality during production. It benefits the paints and coating, cosmetic, ceramic, food, and pharmaceutical industries. Hegman gauge consists of a flat steel block with a scrapper. On the surface of the Hegman Gauge are two flat bottomed grooves varying uniformly in depth from maximum at one end of the block to all the way to zero at the other end of the block. The grooves depth is graduated in microns and the Hegman scale. It is manufactured of hardened stainless steel having corrosion resistance properties.
