The new Rohloff Splined Carrier L (Art. 8540L) is specially designed for combination with Gates-Rohloff plug-in pulleys and complements the range of splined carriers.
Unlike the Rohloff Splined Carrier (Art. 8540) and Splined Carrier S (Art. 8540S), where the splined sprocket is held in place by a locking ring and assembly is, therefore, tool-free, the new Splined Carrier L is fitted with a lock ring that tightened with a face pin wrench, hook wrench or the Rohloff lock ring tool (Art. 8518).
The tightening torque of the lock ring is 30 Nm (do not use a screw locking agent).
The lock ring axially tensions the Gates-Rohloff plug-in pulleys on the Splined Carrier L and prevents micro-movements in the pulleys that result from the pretensioning of the toothed belt.
Compatible with 8540L/8540SL Rohloff Splined Carriers.
