Hobby Master's 1:48 P-51D HA77231B, dubbed 'BOOMERANG JR', piloted by Col. Arthur 'Art' Jeffrey of the 434th FS, 479th FG in December 1944. This highly detailed, diecast, pre-finished model is ready to display, complete with a stand and gears. The P-51, nicknamed 'Mustang', gained extended range with a British Merlin engine and drop tanks, allowing it to escort bombers to Berlin and back. The 479th FG, initially flying P-38 Lightnings, converted to P-51s in 1944. Jeffrey, an ace, scored multiple victories, including the first downing of an ME-163 rocket plane. He named his P-51 'Boomerang Jr' after his previous P-38 'Boomerang'.
