Brix Refractometer

The Craft a Brew Brix Refractometer is a handheld brewing tool designed for measuring the sugar density of unfermented wort, wine must, and juice. Using only a few drops of liquid, this refractometer quickly provides Brix and Specific Gravity readings to help brewers monitor potential alcohol content before fermentation.

Unlike traditional hydrometers, the refractometer requires a much smaller sample size, reducing product waste during brew day. The optical design measures how light refracts through the liquid sample to determine density readings. Automatic temperature compensation allows accurate readings within a temperature range of 50–86°F (10–30°C) without needing manual correction charts.

This brewing refractometer measures from 0–32 °Brix and 1.000–1.130 Specific Gravity (SG), with adjustable focus for easier viewing. The unit includes a protective storage case, drop applicator, and screwdriver for optional manual calibration adjustments.

Suitable for beer brewing, winemaking, mead making, cider production, and juice measurements. Intended for use with unfermented liquids only, as alcohol affects refractive readings after fermentation begins.
