All six episodes from the first season of the 1970s ITV sitcom set in Norfolk during the Second World War. Three very different young women - debutante Daphne Finch-Beauchamp (Marilyn Galsworthy), Cockney lass Jenny Dabb (Terese Stevens) and down-to-earth Jewish girl Shirley Bloom (Philippa Howell) - are sent to Crabtree Farm, Norfolk, owned by the tight-fisted farmer Tom Whitlow (John Stratton), to work as 'land girls' - replacing the male farm labourers who have been sent off to the front. Episodes are: 'A Miss Is As Good As a Male', 'Nymphs and Shepherds Come Expensive', 'Alarms, Excursions and Day Trips', 'Sons and Lovers, God Forbid', 'We Shall Fight Them in the Breeches' and 'All Is Somehow Gathered In'.
