🏁 LIMITED EDITION 100 “NASCAR CHAMPIONS Art Series” by Alex Book Art 1955 NASCAR Champion Driver: Tim Flock Car: Chrysler 300 Team / Owner: Carl Kiekhaefer Owner Official race name: Langhorne 150 Date: Sunday, April 24th, 1955 Racetrack: Langhorne Speedway Location: Middletown Township, Bucks County, PA Track stats: 1.0-Mile Dirt Oval Landscape & Architecture: The wooden flagstand above the start-finish line. This artwork is part of my “NASCAR CHAMPIONS Art Series,” a historically grounded collection dedicated to the drivers, machines, and racetracks that defined the early decades of American stock-car racing. Each piece is released as a Limited Edition of 100 and created entirely by hand. My guiding principle is unchanged: Authenticity, precision, and historical accuracy in every stroke of my brush. I am Alex Book, an automotive artist and motorsport historian. My work is built on careful archival research and traditional artistic methods. In this series, the racing environment—track surface, structures, spectators, and atmosphere—is rendered in ink drawing with watercolor accents, inspired by old graphic engravings. The race car and driver are executed in oil painting, giving weight, mechanical presence, and human character to the central subjects. This artwork depicts Tim Flock, the 1955 NASCAR Champion, driving the powerful Chrysler 300 entered by Carl Kiekhaefer, whose factory-backed operation reshaped NASCAR competition in the mid-1950s. The scene is set during the Langhorne 150, held on Sunday, April 24th, 1955, at Langhorne Speedway in Pennsylvania. The one-mile dirt oval, notorious for its rough surface and unpredictable rhythm, earned a reputation as one of the most demanding tracks in the sport. The composition features the wooden flagstand above the start-finish line, a distinctive landmark that anchors the scene firmly in its original period setting. For this subject, the artwork is offered in two vertical giclée art print formats, each presenting the complete composition: – A vertical art print on a white background, emphasizing line work and contrast. – A vertical art print on a light beige background, echoing the tone of vintage paper and mid-century racing illustrations. All prints are produced as premium matte art prints on 175 gsm museum-grade archival paper, using pigmented archival inks selected for durability and tonal accuracy. Each print is hand-rolled in protective tissue and shipped in an extra-thick triangle box or tube. The artwork is supplied unframed. This series is created for collectors, historians, and dedicated motorsport enthusiasts who value research, craftsmanship, and historical truth—artworks intended as visual records of NASCAR history rather than mass-produced decoration. Unframed print, hand-rolled in protective paper and shipped in a rigid tube. Made in the USA from globally sourced materials.
